Jeff is a Spanish teacher at Rock Springs High School since the 2000 - 2001 school year. Coach Atkinson also coached the Rock Springs High School boy’s soccer team for 9 seasons. While with the Tigers he helped lead them to 5 state tournaments. The Atkinson lead RSHS teams earned a 3rd, 4th and 6th place finish at the Wyoming State Cup during his tenure. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons—Timothy, Landon and Seth and a daughter - Sydney.
Coach Atkinson starts his eighth season as the head coach of Western’s men’s soccer team. He has compiled a 54-62-9 (.468) overall record while at Western. During the 2005 season he led Western to a Wyoming State Club Championship. Under his direction, Western played their first intercollegiate season in 2006, finishing third in Region IX. The 2007 season saw the Mustangs make some great strides and they were able to finish second in the Region. WWCC played in the Region IX championship game in 2008. The 2009 season the Mustangs again finished Region IX in second place. The 2011 season was a difficult season as the Mustangs finished 5th in the Region. One bright spot in 2011 is that Coach Atkinson picked up his 100th career head coaching victory. Last season see the Mustangs get back to a winning record and finish 4th in the Region.  Coach Atkinson says, “The 2012 season should be a lot of fun to watch as we have a very talented team that is willing to give their all for each other and the school.”
